Uno Mas Foto

Forgot this one..... took this one when we went into Savannah for dinner one night.

The amazing thing about this picture is how GROWN UP my son looks.
He's only 12 but to me he looks like he's about 15 in this picture.

He's gone from that tiny baby boy we brought home from the hospital to a (sometimes surly) adolescent so quickly.
I realize that it will not be long at all until my kids are both grown and gone and living their own lives. A bittersweet thought for a mom.

A "Virtual" Trip to the Beach

Yes, I'm that person who never downloads pictures out of her digital camera. When I looked at this morning, I realized I had 116 pictures in there. (Zoinks.) Anyway, below are some photos I snapped on our recent trip to Tybee Island.

Below are two snapshots I took, right as the sun was coming up over the Atlantic. This was about 6:20 AM. I love getting up really really early at the beach. The sand is nice and cool and there is no one on the beach. It's just a wonderful time to be alone with your thoughts, do some meditation, and have some quiet time with the Creator.

Can you hear my kids in the below shot? It went something like this: "Come ON, Mom... Take the picture!" The ocean was so calm that day... there was no wind and no waves. Kind of eery.

Technically, this isn't a "beach shot". This was S competing in a little hula hoop competition up at the neighborhood pool. She didn't win, but it was such a cute little picture of her.

Reminiscing

My kids are growing up too fast.... this Fall they'll be going into 6th and 5th grade. They're so independent, which in a lot of ways is wonderful but in a lot of ways is a little bittersweet, because they need me less and less.

I realize that in not much time at all they'll both be grown, gone and living their own lives. Feeling very pensive this morning.... can you tell? :-)

Luckily, my kids have always been best friends. They were born so close together and have always been each other's favorite playmate. I hope that closeness continues into their adult years.

Below are two photos - one was taken on Mother's Day of this year..... and then the second was taken about 9 years ago (J would have been about 3, and S would have been about 18 month).

It literally feels like about 6 months time has passed between these two photos.

Fotos de la Dia de la Madre

J giving S a piggyback ride.
S. literally "squeezing" a smile out of her big brother. :-)
HappyWife.... HappyHusband (???)
(He was cranky because the seafood place he wanted to take me to had a 2+ hour wait for a table..... at 3 in the afternoon.... so we went to eat elsewhere.
