This is the best story I've seen in a long time. I love this show, but haven't watched it in a while. The same guy has hosted it for years and years and every story is quiet and personal, just like this one.
I really do wish things like this would catch on. So cool!
I think anyone that says frikkin is cool! I have to go watch the video on Gary's phone because the internet won't let me have any plug ins. Crazy, right? Hope your Thanksgiving was sensational!
Gosh, this made me cry, it's just too beautiful. We all need to be more reusers and less throwaway people. Now I even want to just go ahead with some projects on our own.
So amazing! I would love to live in a home like that. A friend of mine grew up in a recycled home that his parents "built" with the help of an architect who specialized in it. I'm going to have to ask his name again. Maybe it's the same guy. So beautiful and so unique.
There's also a much more condensed story about him that NBC news ran last night (11/28).... only about a 2 minute segment though. I think his work is amazing!
I liked this a lot. It Dan reminds me a lot of an old family friend named Michael Rubel. We got married at his castle. A link to a segment on a local PBS show from about 20 years ago is here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naGKfCzFlxg
Happy Wife Happy Life (HWHL)is happily married to The Tall Cool One (a/k/a "Hubster"). We have been married since 1992 and have 2 wonderful kids. We lead a quiet, unassuming life and enjoy cooking, laughing, movies, music and each other.
