"Thank You Wave", RIP

What ever happened to the "thank you wave"?
Do you remember it?
Has it gone the way of the dodo bird, Vanilla Ice music (good riddance), and RSVP'ing for parties?

Is it just not DONE anymore?

Y'all know what I'm talking about, right?
You let someone out into traffic.... they USED to give you the friendly little wave that signified "thanks!" or "Appreciate it!"

Now - NOTHING. At best, you get a blank stare.

Is it just me?
Is it just Atlanta Drivers?

SIGH.

I think the thank you wave is truly a thing of the past.... I just don't see it anymore. So sad.

I give the wave, of course here people rarely let you, but if they did I'd give the wave.

Yes, yes, YES! I couldn't agree more! I thought I was the only one who was infuriated by this. Glad to see I'm not crazy ;-)

It's funny, Stud just can not understand why it makes me so angry when I don't get a "thank you wave." He's too young to remember when people actually did it! I ALWAYS give the thank you wave, so I'm hoping he'll get into the habit himself. (on a side note, he's 3 days into his driver's ed program. yikes!)

I still wave thank you all the time : ). Do you? Now that I think about it, I can't remember if people wave back to me or not. I will take special note tomorrow when I am driving : ). Hope you are having a great week!

I still do this, but I'm way up on the other side of the country. I'll send you a virtual wave from here. {{{wave}}}.

it's alive and really well here in this part of texas! everyone gives you 'the wave' when you let them in, or let them out! it's a nice change from the d.c. area where you're more likely to get flipped off or shot! :)

I'm glad to know that many of you STILL practice the "thank you" wave! (I do, too!)
Interestingly, I heard on the radio - JUST THIS MORNING - that Atlanta is in the Top 5 cities in the nation for "Worst Road Rage".
Sadly, I'm not surprised. :(
