A Delightful Side Effect to Being Unemployed!

So.... last week I was at S's elementary school for a 5th grade function and my dear friend Anne saw me, gasped (literally) and exclaimed "OMG! How much WEIGHT HAVE YOU LOST?!"

(Clearly, it's been a few months since she's seen me...)

I had noticed my jeans have been getting loose.... didn't think much about it.... but went home and weighed myself.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to report, I am now down 15 lbs. since the last time I weighed myself (which was probably a few months ago.... I'm not much of a scale watcher).

Crazily, when I'm stressed over something (ie. finances) and uber-focused on something (trying to find a job, since my business has TANKED due to the economy), I really don't have much of an appetite.

I can now get into my size 6 jeans, once again.
They're snug, but I'm in 'em.
Shocking, but true.

Congratulations! Stress has also been a contributor to my 45 lb loss this past year.... I suggest you do what I do and eat ice cream for dinner after the kids go to bed. It is a great cure!

Yea! Hooray for you! I'm sorry for the circumstances that led you there but it is a happy perk. I lost a couple pounds from the stomach bug and I am just tickled. However short-lived!!

Much love from NJ,

P.S. I just tried to leave a comment but the system burped. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

Size 6!?!?! I hate you! (Of course, you know I really LOVE you!) Congrats!

I have the exact opposite affliction. I EAT, EAT, EAT when I'm stressed. :(

ChiTown - I'm laughing!
Trust me - this is NOT the diet anyone wants to go on.... being stressed/depressed over finances and work issues isn't fun.
However, even after I find a new job and things "shake out" financially, I'm hoping to stay in the size 6's. We shall see. :)

Hooray for you! This would not happen to me, in this situation. I DON'T eat in emergencies: illness, death, broken heart. In all other circumstances, the temptation is food & an extra glass of wine (don't worry; 2 total). You are da bomb for losing weight under stress! But, more importantly, I am sorry that you are under stress. I pray that your faith and your support system will help you through this patch, and still let you keep the size jeans you want to wear! God bless you.

Wow, well you look fabulous in this picture.

At least you aren't losing weight because you can't afford food. You just don't feel like eating it.

WOW. I wish you were not stressed, but at least you got something out of it...I tend to EAT/DRINK when stressed. or happy. Or sad. Or whatever.....
take care,

I can't come here anymore.
I am FAT AS CAN BE....
Ok, Ok, I will be happy for you.
Size 6? When I was in 7th grade and all my friends were wearing Jr. Sizes, I was already too fat for them. Why oh Why did God pick me to be a fat person?

Rebeckah,
Believe me, my dear, getting to this point has NOT been fun. I would much rather be 15 lbs. heavier and have a thriving business again, and no financial worries. BUT that's not the way it played out.

And that's OK. Life is full of "chapters", and I learn from each and every one. :)
