Diva's Latest Debacle

Diva, Queen of Destruction, has found something new to amuse herself. (For those of you unaware, Diva is our 9 month old Chocolate Lab puppy. She weighs 70 lbs., is solid muscle, and thinks she's a lap dog. Her favorite hobbies are eating, chewing, fetching, going for walks, and avoiding the amorous advances of the German Shepherd down the street who doesn't seem to care that Diva has been fixed.)

Anyway, I digress.
Diva's latest pasttime: when I go out to run an errand or go on an interview she goes into S's room and extracts however many stuffed animals suits her fancy and proceeds to surgically remove certain parts of the said "stuffy".

Two days ago, it was "Fashion Kitty". Fashion Kitty had her purple nose chewed off and her left rear paw removed.

This morning, when I was taking J to school since he had a big project due, the stuffed animal of choice was the unnamed Moose, who received Diva's WRATH.
Poor Moose is now a double amputee.

And yes, Diva has many many doggie chew toys..... she just REALLY likes stuffed animals. And S. has a plethora.

I guess we'll now have to close off all bedroom doors whenever we leave the house. Alas.

That FACE! I'll bet she gets away with all of it by looking you in the eyes...she's adorable! But the chewing would get to me...as does the shredding of our couch, by certain CLAWS who shall remain nameless.

I checked your other site yesterday wondering what your little rascal Diva has been up to. Now I know. Everything has to be picked up off the floor otherwise my lab will get it.

My middle son stayed at my grandmother's house the other day and came home with a plastic bag of pinecones. Seemed harmless enough. When I came back from dropping #1 off at the bus stop this morning I found the pinecones chewed up all over the family room floor. The bag was on the kitchen table so she had to jump up and drag it off the table to reach it. Apparently now everything has to be off the floor...and the counters. Damn dog!!!!!!

So, she is having a fling/non fling w/ a German shepherd? She is not a tease is she??? :)
Oh yes, you must keep the doors shut. I did not leave our bedroom doors open until Cocoa was about 3. I love now when I come home and she must pick up "something" to bring to me at the door..like a gift.....sometimes it is one of the girls bras. too cute.
Love her picture...she is a hottie. you know, for a dog.

Buster never used to do these things as a puppy, but the older he got, the more crap he got into!!! For the past few years now, we've had to keep him in the kitchen when we leave the house. Luckily, my kitchen has a door at each "end" so it's easy to confine him. But, there's a bedroom off the kitchen, so we have to make sure that door is closed or he'll get in there and destroy whatever he can. We also now put the garbage in that room when we leave, since I'm sick of cleaning it up when I get home!! Dorky Dog has managed to get stuff that I've left smack in the middle of the table, too. Ugh!!!

"Dorky dog"... that's so cute, ChiTown Girl! :)

Suz,
No, she is definitely NOT a tease to the Shepherd down the street. She sees him coming and she KNOWS what his intentions are. She immediately SITS DOWN to make the area he's interested in inaccessible. LOL. (And Diva has been spayed! Apparently this Shepherd is over-sexed!!)

Wow. She is so adorable though. How can you stay mad for long?
