Found out today that the wife of one of Hubster's good friends is going to die very soon. She has cancer.... we all thought she would beat it, but she's not going to. Hospice has been called, and the end will come, sooner rather than later.
They live in St Louis..... we don't see them much, but we last saw them when they were in Atlanta over Christmas. Everything was fine then. No cancer. We had a happy evening out with several couples.... dinner, drinks, saw a band at a local club.
Life.
It's short.
It's fleeting.
It's precious.
Don't let little things get you down.... they're just little things. (Keep them in proper perspective.)
Tell the people you love that you love them.
Enjoy that sunset.
Look at that flower a bit longer.
HAVE that slice of pie.
Life. It only comes around once.

I am so sad to hear this news....my thoughts are with you and her family today. Life is fleeting...death is never easy.

Oh, HWHL, I'm so very sorry to hear about your friend. That's just so sad. I'll say a prayer for her and her family.
Amen, Sister. I'm so sorry for their pain. May she have mercy and peace in her passing, and may their entire family (and friends) receive comfort and love in each moment. This is a hard journey.
Prayers for her and her family.
Oh, I hate to hear that kind of news. What a terrible thing. As we go through our crazy, daily lives we so often forget how precious it is. What a shame.
Sad indeed... it's not easy, is it? When we found out my MIL had advanced lung Cancer and there was no treatment and she had not more than 6 months to live, we were devastated, it brings on a whole new outlook on life for sure. There is no preparation for death...
Definitely prayers are in order...
My dad died not too long ago from cancer. We too thought he would beat it but it was not to be and he spent his last month in a hospice. Your poem is so very true and I always say, live your life 'cos you're a long time dead. God bless.
. . . and, I'm your twentieth follower . . Yah!!!!!
