In Memory of a Departed Friend....

Sad news today: my blogger buddy Deron Arnold has passed away. You may have read about Deron here.

Deron was suffering with end stage Cystic Fibrosis and had a double lung transplant in July, but has remained hospitalized since then.

He was a loving husband, and father to twin 3 year old boys. He was a great guy, and his faith really inspired me.

Deron lost his long battle on Sunday and is no longer struggling.

Please keep his family in your prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this...how heartbreaking for his family.
Sending up prayers for them.
Life can be so cruel

Hi Sweet Friend. I'm so sorry about this. I've been following his story for over a year now. Peace and blessings to you and his family.

One of Deron's friends left this as a comment on his blog. I thought it was lovely and very fitting... and I've often used the analogy that God is weaving a giant tapestry of our lives... and it won't make sense to us in THIS life...:

My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I do not choose the colors,
But God works steadily.

Often God weaves sorrow,
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget God sees the top
While I the underside.

Not until the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And explain the reasons why.

But, the dark threads are as needful
In the skillful weaver's hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern God has planned.
