Speaking of Amazing Girls.....!!

MY amazing 5th grader graduated from elementary school tonight!

Here is a pic of her, and all her BFF's.... aren't they all just beautiful girls? And not only that, they are all great girls.... all are straight A, or A/B students, and nice girls. I am so proud of ALL of them, but especially proud of MY beautiful daughter (who is the one in the black, by the way).

I got a little choked up tonight (which doesn't happen often).... but I was realizing, as she walked across the stage to get her elementary "certificate", that my baby truly isn't a baby anymore and is quickly becoming a young woman.

Time goes by WAY too quickly!
Cherish those babies, my mommy friends!

Hi HW, How's the new job? Do you like it?????

I know you are proud of your 5th Grader.. She's so pretty... I'm not surprised that you wanted to cry. They grow up so quickly.

You have a very interesting church!!! How was the Mother's Day service???

Hugs,
Betsy

You don't get choked up? Gosh, I wish I didn't. I cry at least one time a day. A good day is 3 good cries. :)

How interesting that your school does 5th grade "graduation." Does that mean she will go on to a separate junior high building next year? We don't have an elementary school graduation until 8th grade here, even if you attend a seperate building for junior high. Most CPS school go from pre-k to 8th, though. The suburbs have junior highs, but we didn't have any kind of ceremony when we left after 6th grade.

The girls all look gorgeous! You must be one proud mamma!

Oh it does go so quickly!

I'm heading up to San Francisco at the end of the month to help my college student move. I offered to send her money to rent a truck and hire people instead of driving up and spending all that money on gas. But then she said that she really wanted me there... and I remembered my little girl that was scared to go to a new school.

They do grow up quickly, but they still need us around.

Awwww, way to go smart gal! She's taking after her mama I suspect? So is junior high next? She is going to have so much fun. She's smart AND pretty.

As for Rachel Alexandra, how about a round of applause for all ladies!?

ok, I did NOT look like that in 5th grade! These girls are glowing and happy and sure and sweet. I was so awkward and shy and quiet it pains me!

What an amazing event. Sometimes I'm glad all those mommy moments are still ahead of me, and sometimes I get frightened by the thought.

It makes me so happy to see girls (and boys) like this who are just nice and good.
