Marley & Me - a movie review

Hubster, the kids and I went to see "Marley & Me" last night. It was wonderful!

If you go to see it:

Be prepared to laugh.

And then - especially if you're a dog lover - be prepared to cry. I mean, REALLY cry. As in, racking sobbing noises and not-being-able-to-breathe-through-your-nose type crying.

Marley reminded me so much of our sweet, late, great beautiful Black Lab Chloe who we got as newlyweds (just like Jenny and John from the movie) and who passed away, at home, in 2005. I get teary-eyed just thinking about her.

Chloe was almost like our first child. We loved her so much.

It was a sweet movie. Good family movie (for older kids, not little kids).

My children have been dying to see this and they did the other night. I refused to go though as I heard it was a tear jerker and I wouldn't be able to handle it. Isn't that crazy???

They laugh at me about it though. They aren't allowed to tell me all the ending details.

=)

AFter "Old Yeller" and "Turner & Hooch" I refuse to see movies with dogs as the main characters, it always ends up with me in tears.

The Curious Case of BB was the movie I saw last week. It was a true gem.

Thank you for the beautiful comment! Poor little Ruby girl is in my prayers today. I hope she comes through her surgery with flying colors. She is blessed to have a mama like you who will actually get her the medical attention she needs. You do not know how many dog owners would have just turned her over to a shelter or just had her euthanized. It's horrible!

Give her sweet baby kisses for me when she's out of surgery. Tell her A & M think she's awful pretty. Oh, and don't forget to poach a little bit more chicken. With all the doggie surgeries going on at your house lately, you may have to buy stock in a chicken farm! :-)

I read the book in a day or two a few years ago...I cried so much though. :(
I am such a softie.
My friend went and saw it and said that I should not see it at the theater cause I cry too much anyway!!!!
I'll watch it in the privacy of my home when it comes out on DVD.

I'm with Suz, I think I'll wait for it to come out on video. Then, I'll save it for a day when I need a good cry!

It was a sweet movie. Since I knew how it was going to end, the entire last half of the movie I was a nervous wreck waiting for "the end". Needless to say, my eyes were very red and swollen by the end of the movie. Ya gotta love a puppy though!

I read the book and sobbed through many parts. I think I'll have to wait til it comes out on DVD. Or at least until this nasty head cold is finally over cuz I can't take one more fluid leaking out of this body.

judging by the box office, it looks like Jennifer Aniston is giving Brad Pitt a run for his money...
