Allow me to present the one, the only, the Amazing Doyle Dykes.
I've been fortunate enough to see this legend - live and in concert - twice, and yesterday I got to get his autograph AND I got to hug him.
He's a kindly Grandpa but he can make a guitar do some amazing and magical things.
Prepare to have your socks knocked off. :-)

seriously MAD talent, that!
Okay, for some reason I can never see these movies at work... I will have to check back again at home.
D'Arcy - he's amazing. He played at church yesterday (believe it or not, he's also a pastor!). And he just stops between songs and just gently talks about Jesus, and then he picks up his guitar and makes it BLAZE all over again. LOVE it.
I'm sure he'll be doing LOTS of shows in heaven, with all the great musicians of generations past. Can't wait!
awesome!!!
if you like Doyle you'll love Tommy Emmanuel. However, I have to say....two hours of this sort of guitar playing, frankly, gets old. I mean, the first 30 minutes you are ABSOLUTELY amazed but then it is sorta like a magician doing the same trick over and over. However, the talent and discipline is, of course, impressive.
cheers! Anon Anne
Hello Anon Anne! Did you get the EM I sent you? I saw your old boyfriend (circa late 80's) at Smith's Olde Bar on Saturday night... he was very adorable (and fairly smashed!) :-)
I will have to check Tommy Emmanuel out.
And I must respectfully disagree with you about Doyle Dykes. I've seen him twice now and was transfixed both times. He's a gentle, wonderful soul.
Hope you and "Anon Ken" have a great New Year! Let's get together soon! :-)
