How Will 2009 Be Different For You?

I'm curious, my blogosphere buddies..... how will 2009 be different for you?
I'm not talking about the typical resolutions that we all make (and then usually break within a couple of weeks)...

But how is 2009 going to be different? How are you going to make it different, and BETTER, for yourself and your family?

  • What are your plans?
  • What are your goals?
  • What are your dreams, that you're going to "go for" over the coming year?

As they say.... if you WRITE IT DOWN, you MAKE IT REAL.

Less spending & better planning as far as money is concerned.
Looking at college for LO. :0
A big turning point for Coach and I next year...we will see what that brings us.
I will try to be my sweet, loving self EVERYDAY instead of every OTHER day!!!!
Being healthy,NOT losing weight for me...just NOT GAINING anymore would be an improvement over the last few years. It has to stop somewhere, right?

I don't believe in resolutions at all as they tend to bring me down if I don't accomplish them so I like making littler goals throughout my year that I strive for. Easier to accomplish.
But I am hoping that eventually in the year 2009, I can look into finding a bigger place to live for the two of. That's been a dream of mine for a long time.
We don't have much money at all but now with me working a job and before I get too sick again, I want to enjoy a bigger apartment for a few years while I can.
So my goal is to get one bigger than this 650 sq foot one I'm currently in! Yay!
Wish me luck.

I hope you had a nice Christmas!

So far, here are mine:
1. Be more positive (believe it or not, lately I have become a bit negative and it's a slippery slope! I'm going to STOP that before it gets worse.
2. Quit taking my health for granted and DO things every day to actively promote/preserve good health. (ie. eat good things; exercise, etc.)
3. Find time every day to reflect on the day's "specialness"... life speeds by too fast, and each day has its own beauty. I don't want that beauty to get lost in the rush-rush of daily life. So, I'm going to have a little journal and I'll spend a few minutes jotting down something beautiful or special, or something I'm thankful for (from that day).
4. Be a better steward of the stuff I have. Take care of things better so they'll last longer. Teach my kids the 3 things you can/should do with money (save; spend; give), etc. Just make wiser financial decisions.

PS: Oh yeah. I also need to find a good job, preferably sometime in January. LOL. :-)

I really have to think about this for a while...but off the top of my head:
Love harder
Be kinder
Speak softer
Share Jesus
Help others
Sacrifice in bigger ways

and of course I really, really, really want to lose weight.

dunno - - i'm not good with goals & resolutions. i'm one of those old hippies who likes to enjoy the moment, run with the tides and not worry about much! sometimes it works and sometimes it don't - when it don't i fix it as best as i can and move on to whatever's next! keeps life interesting!

sounds strange coming from a career military guy don't it?! lol

I just got back from a day long meditation retreat with friends where we released and completed the things of 2008 and created the missions and visions of 2009. I can tell you one thing, friend, it is going to be an amazing year. By the way, my internet fast is now over, and I am back to commenting. I am sure you missed me :)

Don?! A military man without strategic goals and plans? Are you kidding me??? LOL! ;-)

Supah Novah.... love it, girlfriend! You need a big red cape, with a large SN emblazoned on the chest. I can see you now, standing atop a cliff at sunset, hands on hips, a resolute look on your face.

"Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Why NO, it's.... Supah Novah!" (Cue the Funk Music!!)

Happy New Year, beautiful friend!

Hmmm....I probably shouldn't be leaving a comment without thoroughly thinking this through, but off the top of my head...

Being more aware of my health. Yeah, yeah, everyone wants to make "lose weight" one of their resolutions, but I think I'll just focus on making more healthy choices.

Put some serious energy into helping my brother hire someone to work at the bar. As much as I would miss it, I think I need to give it up for a while. The three jobs are KILLING me, physically, and I think I have to let this one go, as it's the most physically taxing.

Put some serious energy into getting this house in some kind of order! I've been living in a chaotic mess for far too long! I'm gonna let the three jobs (and a teenager and a dog!) be my excuse for this one! ;-)

Finally, I need to focus on a job change. That's all I'm going to say on that one for now!
