SHOCKING, but true....

It is snowing in Atlanta today.
Just flurries, but still.
SNOW. Here.

Hubster is making turkey & dumplings for dinner. Perfect food for a cold gray Winter evening.

(Actually, it's still techically Fall, I suppose....)

Oh... snow.... since it is December, I am wearing my sparkly snowflake necklace and new sparkly snowflake earrings. A Florida girl can dream, can't she?

Oh no. I don't like to hear this at all! I would like to have snow just ONE day a year : ). It is so lovely to look at....but so terrible to drive in. If only I didn't have to work. I keep trying to convince my husband, but it isn't working!

Jason, as himself said...

Whoa. We had snow in LA once last year. For about two minutes. Boy did we act fast with the camera!

Ohio checking in. We were expecting some, but got very little, so my drive into work this morning wasn't all that bad.

But is it true that when you get snow in Atlanta, everything is closed down?

Cliff, when we get any sort of measurable snow (ie: an inch or more) everything shuts down. Yesterday was just flurries and didn't stick to the ground.
The reason everything shuts down is we have no snow removal equipment for the roads here since it's such a rare event... plus people don't know how to drive in it. The roads become treacherous very quickly.
We used to have snow "events" at least once or twice each Winter (Suz can attest to this), but now with climate change it's pretty rare that the kids even get one snow day (MUCH to their dismay!)

Oh so pretty! What a way to welcome December!

What do you think Diva will do when she sees big fluffy flakes? Better have your camera on hand from this point on.

I know Diva will LOVE the snow when it REALLY comes.
However, today she is in the proverbial dog house. She chewed a hole in the guest room mattress when I was out (I was out for a few hours... and apparently she was REALLY bored....)

I'll have to take a picture and post it. It is BAD. Time for a new mattress.
