Smaller Government, Lower Taxes, More Freedom

These are wonderful principles, wouldn't you agree?
Did you know these are the "cornerstones" of the Libertarian party?

I'm giving serious thought to casting my vote - as a PROTEST vote - for the Libertarian candidate.

(Yes, I've already been told... it would be a "wasted vote"... blah, blah, blah....)

And yes, if you're curious, I DO have that scene from "Borat" playing in my head with Bob Barr sampling the "breastmilk cheese" that Borat brought him from his homeland... (if you haven't seen the movie, this won't make any sense.... )

But seriously.
I'm about OVER the two main parties. And OVER the spin, and the HYPE.
Both parties are so BUSY pursuing power (and being courted by lobbyists) that they have forgotten that they are public servants.

This country's political system needs a major overhaul.

I'm thinking of having my own Boston Tea Party, by voting Libertarian.
Check it out.
I like what they stand for.

Smaller Government. I Approve.

Lower Taxes. I definitely approve.

More Freedom. Without a doubt, I approve.

It's definitely something to consider.

I know. It's crazy, right? My sister LOVED Ron Paul. He seems kind of libertarian to me. Hope your weekend is FANTASTIC!

Don,
This week just pushed me over the EDGE. Each side is pointing fingers at the other side. But really.... each side is so soaked in the vortex of POWER at this point, that they've lost the whole point of what our country is about. I think if our founding fathers could come back today and see the MESS we have made, they would all die - either of massive coronaries, or BROKEN hearts.

We need to TRASH the Washington "players" we have now, and start fresh.

I'm fed up.

This is a critical moment in time when a third party is most necessary. The problem with the Libertarian Party is that they are followed by a lot of "freaks" that marginalize the real movement. Hopefully over the next four years, there will be enough of a groundswell that the third party will be taken seriously and we can have our country back...

I have been thinking the same thing, I am OVER politics! So tired of it all!!!

I've had Libertarian leanings since college. I don't think they have ALL the answers. We are a Superpower, and I'm not sure they would take care of that status which is somewhat important in the global perspective. However, for the rest, I think they have it right.

Give yourself a break and ignore the news. I'm a much happier person by ignoring it. I haven't watched news for more than 6 years. I stay much less uptight that way!

Sugar,
Very well put. I just want our country back. I feel like it has been sold off to the highest bidder. "USA, brought to you by CitiBank!"
I want to throw up at what we've become.... we've gotten SO far away from the ideals upon which we were founded.

Louise,
Believe it or not, I don't watch much news. I don't subscribe to the "Chicken Little/Yellow Journalism" that passes for news these days. However, I am very concerned over the legacy (read: MESS) we're leaving for our children, and our children's children to clean up. It's not fair to them at all.

But anyway, I digress. It's a beautiful day here today... I think I'm going to go outside and PLAY in the sunshine!
