Dr. Lowery is well loved, and well respected, here in Atlanta. He didn't disappoint today. I loved his benediction, despite the fact that many found it controversial.

Dr. Lowery's benediction is getting a lot of flak in the press.... (esp on talk radio). I think people are making a bit of a mountain out of a molehill out of his "rhyme" at the end.
You have to understand where Dr. Lowery is coming from, and what he has seen in his lifetime.... the man is 88 years old and is one of the lions of the civil rights era.
I still think it was great. For me, it was not a "low moment" during the inauguration, as many are saying.
I don't see what the fuss is all about either. I had heard some negative things about him beforehand...but this was nice.
I loved his poem! He was awesome and real.
However, the woman before him, from Yale, was a major SNORE fest! I'm sorry did a 6th grader write that poem!?!? And she sounded like a 1st grader reading it. I know that's mean but seriously it was such a buzz kill right after Obama's powerful speech. Dr. Lowery should have followed him.
