As you can see, Diva is preferring furniture to her chew toys. She has made some surprising progress with one of our breakfast room chairs, as well as one of the legs of the coffee table in the den.
Despite the fact that we crate her while we're asleep (and when we're out) she still manages to sneak a few "quiet moments" during the day to chew (and destroy) things. That wood must feel SO good to those Puppy Jaws!
She ALSO got ahold of my glasses yesterday (luckily I have two pair) and completely destroyed them. They literally look like they went through the garbage disposal. :-(
That was my fault though - I left them on the table, on top of a magazine. I'm sure they called out to her.... "chew me.... chew me... chew me"And for those of you who are going to suggest spraying Bitter Apple spray on furniture....?
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. It slowed her down for maybe about an hour.... then apparently she decided she liked the taste. (Flavor enhancer, perhaps...?)
Like I've said before, it's a Good Thing this puppy is so darn cute!

Oh....what a bad girl. I have not had this problem w/ Cocoa. But my MIL has had 2 choc. labs and one of them was a chew whore. He chewed all sorts of furniture and DRYWALL.
I think I'm going to avoid the pains of puppyhood and live vicariously through you...
hey, so I gave you a little props on my post today. I'm off to BlogHer...
Ciao!
Hey, now it's shabby chic! I was thinking to myself "Oh, hell no" as I read your post and looked at the pics. Just as I went to the comment page, I saw the pic of your puppy. Who could get mad at that adorable thing. SOOOOOOO CUTE!
Suz,
Chloe (our first Lab, back when we were newlyweds) ate a STEP in our house. Yes, that's right... she chewed THROUGH the carpet, the padding, down to the WOOD. She also ripped wallpaper off the walls. Labs are great dogs, IF you can get past the chewing stage. It's rough. (Ruff.) ;-)
Sugar,
Thanks girl! And have FUN at the conference - I can't wait to hear ALL about it!! :-)
Just keep her away from the expensive shoes! Furniture I could maybe deal with, SHOES I would...well, I don't know what I would do, but it wouldn't be pretty!!!
we used to have 2 female and 1 male toy poodles - - end of the line for the male was the afternoon he piddled on sue's piano....he was sold within a week lol lol we swore at that point we'd never have another male dog.......
good luck! :)
Don,
She is a really cute dog, though. If you look over on the sidebar of my blog, then click on the puppy picture that says "Diva and Ruby's Dog Blog link" you'll see my sister-blog about the doggie-adventures.....
She is a sweet dog and very cute. But she will definitely be our last puppy. I told Hubster if we ever get another dog, we'll do what we did with Ruby and get a full grown dog. MUCH easier....
