The foreclosure house across the street is REALLY looking abandoned now.
The people who lived there have been gone for about 6 weeks so the yard is really, really overgrown; there are flyers sticking out of the mailbox; yellowed newspapers on the driveway, and the whole place just has the "look" of an abandoned house.
It's the first thing I see every morning when I step out on my front porch. It's really a bummer. There's no for sale sign yet. I guess, because there are so many foreclosures now, that it takes a while to work through the system... I'm sure eventually there will be a for sale sign, and then hopefully someone will buy it before long. Until then, it looks quite pitiful. :-(
The whole thing kind of underscores the "crappy economy" we're all dealing with right now. (I still can't believe Senator Phil Gramm said America is full of whiners and we're in a 'mental recession'. Could he be more out of touch?!

that really is too bad. Hopefully someone nice will come and take it over..spruce it up and you will have a better view from your front porch. (I DO love your front porch!!)
I've GOT to see a picture of this house.
Well, someone came and mowed half of their yard today so it really looks much better (if I close my right eye and only look at the half that is mowed). I'll take a picture tomorrow for you, Sugar... the sun is starting to go down right now.... it really is a pretty house from the outside and it's on a huge lot with lots of trees, and a creek that runs behind it. I think, if it were priced right, it would probably sell quickly, even in this economy. I'm trying to convince one of Hubster's friends and his wives to buy it.....
wife. singlular (no plural marriages, among our friends...)
Just thought I'd clarify that.
:-)
That's so hard, but almost "To Kill a Mockingbird" esque...Boo Radley needs to live there!
D'Arcy - you're right! It would be the PERFECT Boo Radley house!!
