I almost always get up pre-dawn, put my hair up in a ponytail, and wander out onto the beach to watch the sun rise out over the Atlantic. I just LOVE that, and look forward to it every morning.
However, on this trip I overslept all three mornings (everyone there - except me - was a nightowl... so I wound up staying up late, laughing and enjoying their company).
But I really did miss my morning "quiet time". I love that solitary time, watching the sky turn purple-pink then seeing the sun peek up over the horizon and seeing the new day open itself up like a flower.
It's just magical to me. Frequently I'll see a couple of dolphins gently coming up out of the water as the sun comes up.... maybe they enjoy greeting the sunrise (and the Creator) as well.
We'll go back down to the beach over Labor Day and I'll make sure to get up early and have some quality ocean sunrise time then.
