So Incredibly Adorable....

So today was "open house" at the Middle School for J., who is going to be a 6th grader on Monday.

He's going from the safe little cocoon of Elementary School to the big bad world of Middle School. He's excited and of course a little nervous (although he certainly won't admit it - that just WOULDN'T be cool).

So, anyway, we get to the Big Bad School, walk down the ridiculously long hallway, go down a flight of stairs, past the 2 story library (!!) down another ridiculously long hallway, down a really really long corridor and FINALLY find his home-room teacher's class.

And GUESS who is sitting next to him in homeroom.

His "girlfriend" from kindergarten, who he has not seen for 7 years.

You should have seen his face light up. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen.

(Said girlfriend "disappeared" after kindergarten... we assumed she moved away, but apparently she did not.... just went to a different school.... and now, NOW.... here she is. And sitting right next to J. Smiling at him, even.)

He's been walking on clouds all afternoon.

If it's possible, she's even cuter at age 12 then she was at age 5.

I sense a budding Love Story. :-)
