Viggo Mortensen.... Absolute Perfection....

OK, D'Arcy, it's all your fault.

YOU brought up Viggo Mortensen and totally threw me off my 12 step program to get over my life-long crush on him. ;-)
1. I admit that I am powerless over Viggo's overwhelming charms.
2. I believe that a Power greater than me can restore me to sanity...

(Y'all know I'm teasing, right?)

But seriously, LOOK at this man. He's perfection. And not only is he physically beautiful, he's an incredibly talented actor, painter, photographer, writer, etc. The total package.

If you have not yet checked him out (and I don't mean that in the CRASS sense), do so.

PS: Viggo, in the very OFF chance you're reading this, I'm still waiting for you to "approve" me as your friend on FaceBook. I promise I'm not crazy or weird or a stalker; I'm just a very fond admirer who thinks you rock. (Just thought I'd toss that in there.) :-)

Did you know that in The Two Towers where he kicks that helmet and screams, that he actually broke his foot in that scene? Those were real screams.

The gals at work currently all seem to like this guy named Matt McConaghey (?sp). Personally, I don't quite see the attraction.

BTW, is there a double standard here? Girls seem to be able to be very public with their Hollywood crushes. My own dear mother was pretty open about liking Robert Redford and Harrison Ford. I know if I mentioned someone I thought was very appealling my wife would be upset, and I would feel awkward.

Cute! I love the Facebook reference. Do you think Aragon is on Facebook? (I actually have a crush on Aragon, but not Viggo. Call me crazy.)

Hey Deron! I'm "open" about my crush on this forum, my blog, but I really don't talk much about it to my hsuband. He's aware of it, of course, but it's certainly not something I "gush" about to him. (And, for the record, he has a similar HUGE crush on Salma Hayek... and I agree she is a beautiful woman...)

As far as Matthew McConaughey, he's attractive but if you've ever seen him interviewed, he's dumb as a stump. Not so with Viggo. He's very bright, very thoughtful, plus he shrinks from the limelight and doesn't "do" the Hollywood scene... which (in my mind) makes him all the more intriguing.

He WAS King Aragorn! No other actor could even have come CLOSE! I was absolutely blown away when I saw the LOTR trilogy. Loved, loved, LOVED it. (I'll definitely have to watch the "helmet" scene now again in 2 Towers, now that I know this bit of trivia!) I wonder what his personal beliefs are? I'm sure he read Tolkien's books in preparation for the role... I would like to think he is a fellow believer, but I really have no idea. I know he is fiercely guarded about his private life (and who can blame him!)

Thanks for stopping by at my site and leaving your thoughtful feedbacks! I am so glad to find another (happily married with children) fan who knows a good man when she sees one. Glad to know I am not alone :-)

Man....I came to your blog, saw that photo and just said, "Damn!" He is one fine looking man.

And I admit I have read his book of poems.

And looked longingly at his photography.

I don't know about you, but I think we are a match made in heaven. We could sit around and make poetry together and take photos of each other and paint paintings of each other and i could direct him in a film or act opposite of him...Viggo, I am just here, waiting for you, why don't you notice me?

I am not crazy either.......

However, as an English teacher, is it justified that I have a Lord of the Rings poster in my room (they were AMAZING books before they were movies) that is just Viggo with a sword?

hmmmm

Did you also know that in the film "A Perfect Murder" with Paltrow, he plays an artist and he actually lived IN that LOFT and painted ALL the paintings they used in the film?

I am sure you did!

OK, stop tempting me, I really have to get some work done tonight!

And I am TOTALLY fine with my future husband having a celebrity crush....as long as they are just for fun and I don't find him missing at 2 am because he is outside of Salma's or Julia's or Reese's house.....

Louise - I'm sure you know this, but Tolkien's symbolism in his books was very heavy.... Aragorn is very much a Christ-figure. So yes, I understand your love for Aragorn completely!

I'm laughing out loud.... !!
I have to get offline now. (Hubster is getting VERY irritated I've spent so much time blogging tonight.) Whoops! :-)

Later, gator!

Yes, he is definitely a tasty little niblet, isn't he? I flew to Miami once... from San Diego... that's like, a really long way... anyway, Viggo's movie about a horse race in the desert on a Mustang, Hidalgo. I didn't have the $5 cash needed to buy a pair of headphones, but I was not detered. I watched as he brilliantly rode that horse back and forth across the desert.

I vaguely understood the plot, but I wasn't really interested in no stinkin' plot. Haha!
