Apparently We've Resorted to THIS to Sell Houses in Atlanta

OK. Had a somewhat surreal thing happen yesterday in our neighborhood.

Now, let me first say our neighborhood is relatively nice. It's well established (about 12 years or so), about 200 homes, 4 and 5 BR homes, nice wooded lots, active HOA, swim & tennis, clubhouse, all that jazz.

It's not a country club community or anything like that, but it's a nice place to live. We plan on living here for many, many years (maybe forever).

Anyway, we haven't had "new construction" in the neighborhood in years and years.

However, we do have quite a few houses that are on the market and have been on the market for awhile. So, apparently a bunch of "motivated" (and we all know that means "semi-desperate") homeowners got together and hired someone to wear a Giant Toucan Costume and stand at the entrance to our neighborhood and DANCE next to a Giant Sign that said HOME SALE BLOW-OUT.

Now, let me ask you..... if you were out driving around, looking for a nice home in the North Atlanta 'burbs, is a Giant Dancing Toucan going to turn your head?

Nope, me neither.

It might be good marketing next to a sign that says, oh, I don't know... "MOTHER OF ALL GARAGE SALES - THIS SATURDAY!", but to sell nice homes, I'm just not "feelin' it".....

It's interesting what some people find alluring!

Well, the giant toucan might turn my head, but not necessarily in a good way.
BTW--wouldn't that costume be extremely hot in GA?

Deron,
We are already in the 90's here - so yes, the poor person who was dancing in the toucan costume was undoubtedly sweating up a storm!

You can come up here to MN. We barely made it to 60 today. Your brother can probably verify the crazy weather we've been having. Was he affected by any of the severe weather in the Twin Cities. I know a 2 year old child died.
