Tim Russert

Just heard an announcement on the news that Tim Russert collapsed and died today, while at work. He was only 58.

Russert has always been a journalist who I've respected - honest, forthright, and not prone to sensationalizing the news (like so many newsmen tend to do these days).

Rest in peace, Tim. You will be missed.

I miss him already even though I usually only watched TV news during the elections. I liked how he presented the story. Boy, isn't life short and evanescent!

That is the TRUTH - life is but a vapor.....

I will miss him as well. He was always one of the "good guys". A very fair, and honest reporter. Seems like there are fewer and fewer of those now!

It's not like I watched him ALL the time... but I thought of him as one of the Good Guys on the political news front. He seemed to earn your trust by his presence alone. Now, watching all the press about his unfortunate passing, I'm seeing in a short time span all the years he spent earning our trust. Although it's sad to see a man of his age pass, it's a testament to his life of integrity and hard work that so many people are rushing to share a story through obvious pain of a man they called friend. We should all live that way...

Well said, Sugar.

Jason, as himself said...

I really didn't know much about him, but the past couple days I've only heard wonderful things. The "good guys" seem to be few and far between.

I am so saddened by this. I am reminded to treasure life. And I feel glad that he led such a good one and will be remembered well.
