Golden Georgia Sky

We've been getting some amazing evening storms here the past several days.

I actually LOVE watching a good thunderstorm roll in. Our house is up on a bit of a hill and we also have a front porch with rocking chairs, so I'll sit on the porch (as long as I feel safe) and watch the clouds roll and boil, and watch the lightning strike.

Hubster loves it too and (believe it or not) when we were dating, we used to go for WALKS during thunderstorms. (Yes, we were idiots in our early 20's and we now realize this....)

Anyway, last night's storm brought lots of wind, lots of thunder and lightning, and some much needed rain. Then, after it blew through, the sky turned a beautiful shade of golden orange. The photo doesn't really capture how beautiful it was, but this is the best I could do.

This was taken from my front porch, facing West.

I've been sitting on my front porch nightly too. It's big and roomy and cozy at the same time. I don't have as good of view of sunsets as I did as a child, with the orange skies of home, but the wind, and here, the promise of rain makes for sultry, quite, perfect evenings.

You should check out the song Orange Sky by Alexi Murdoch, it's one of my favorites right now.

I'll have to do that D'Arcy. I like Alexi Murdoch, and I'm sure I would like that song.

btw - I'm still working on arranging an introduction for you and Eduardo.... (per my email back to you...) I'll see what I can come up with. :-)

Nice pic and yes you were both stupid for walking in a thunderstorm.
I should take pics of our DAILY lightening and thunder storms. But I could die doing it. Not sure if it is worth it or not.

Suz,
This one storm we walked in (back when I lived in the Emory area.... I think I was 19 and Hubster was 22 or 23) was a particularly WICKED storm.... lightning was literally crashing all around us and we were just walking along, laughing, getting totally drenched. We had no CLUE we were playing Lightning Roulette....

Ah... young love.... totally oblivious!

Wow, that's really beautiful!

We've had a few storms here too lately.

Recruiting is definitely feast or famine. It's summer... nobody ever wants to work in the summer... then just before the holidays, with the reality of empty bank accounts and maxed out credit cards, all of your "passive" candidates suddenly become quite active. Oh well...

So, if not nurses, financial planners? Pharmacists? I'm just curious which industry you are in.

Kia ora Hwhl,
I will have to enjoy the thought of thunder storms vicariously, as we rarely get thunder here in New Zealand- though we do get earth quakes, cyclones, and the occasional volcanic eruption. I guess we are just too long and skinny and the weather either rolls over or gets caught up in the mountains. I used to love thunder storms and watching them roll in when I grew up in Wisconsin, used to crawl in bed with my mom and dad when I was little. Good memories. Kia ora.
Ka kite ano,
Robb
